Faith Christian Church seeks to exalt Christ by encouraging one another, equipping the saints and evangelizing the lost.
Exalt - Encourage - Equip - Evangelize
EXALT
"Come magnify the Lord with me, let us exalt His name together." Psalm 34:3
- We want exalting Christ to be the banner that flies over our church. It is the essence of our existence. Everything we do should be done for the primary purpose of exalting Christ.
ENCOURAGE
"...encourage one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin." Hebrews 3:13
- The New Testament clearly teaches that the Christian life is not to be lived out alone. We need other members of the body to encourage us in our walk with Christ.
EQUIP
"And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ..." Ephesians 4:11-12
- Each member of the body of Christ is given specific gifts for the purpose of advancing the Kingdom. One of the primary purposes of the local church is to 'equip the saints for the work of ministry.'
EVANGELIZE
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8
- The body of Christ is to be about the business of evangelizing the lost. The primary (not sole) way the New Testament illustrates evangelism is through relationships. Building relationships with non-believers and then being 'prepared to give a reason for the hope that you have.'
The early church was devoted to the Four E's.
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship (EQUIP), to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul (EXALT), and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need (ENCOURAGE). And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. (EVANGELIZE)" Acts 2:42-47
